Mount Guntur is located in Tarogong Kaler District or 7 kilometers from the
center of Garut. The mountain that has a height of 2249 mdpl, still active. This mountain
is also known as 'Merapi' from western Java, due to the steep terrain with
gravel and sand.
This ascent I live with 5 classmates and "Community Climber
Rimba". Our journey begins on 30 november 2017 departing from Depok at 1
am. We left by bus, supposedly from Depok to Garut only spent about 5-6 hours,
but since then the long week end, the trip from Depok to Basecamp climbing
takes up to 13 hours, badly jammed.
Arriving at the basecamp at 3 pm, we took a short break, ate, prayed, and
continued on the way to the post 1. The trip from the basecamp to the postal
post 1 was nothing so exciting, just the streets of grimy cliffs and there was
no longer a drain mine.
